Israel 2048

Three years ago, an art competition under this name took place in Jerusalem. Israeli designers and artists were asked to prepare posters for Israel’s 100-year anniversary celebrations, which will take place in 2048. This week, as we celebrate 70 years to the creation of the state of Israel, we will go over the posters from this competition, discuss their contents, and try to see what we can learn from them on how Israelis envision the next three decades of their country. Join us at 12:30 in the chapel.  

Monthly discussion on interesting aspects of Israeli society. Topics to include: religious feminism in Israel, the generational revolution in the Bedouin community, how the Russian immigration wave transformed Israel, a personal presentation about life on the Gaza border, Israel's humanitarian involvement in the Syrian civil war, and more.
