What's New With ALIVE!

Purim Food Drive

ALIVE! clients—our Alexandria neighbors—include school kids whose parents work on weekends and individuals and families whose housing is so unstable they have no reliable access to a full kitchen. So the Matanot L'evyonim that ALIVE! asks of us this Purim is an array of single-portioned, easy to heat foods.

Can you help fulfill this mitzvah?

Most Needed Items

  • Single-serve cereal bowls and oatmeal packets
  • Kid-friendly microwaveable food cups (like macaroni and cheese or soups)
  • Tuna and cracker snack packs, Goldfish crackers, and trail mix
  • Ramen noodle cups or packets
  • Juice boxes

Place donations in the ALIVE! bin in the lobby near the main doors:
  • Before Kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday, March 15 and Friday, March 22
  • When you arrive for the Purim Spiel and Carnival on Sunday morning, March 17
  • Before the Megillah Reading, part 1, on Saturday evening, March 23
  • Before the Megillah Reading, part 2, on Sunday morning, March 24
  • Until the bin is picked up on Monday, March 25
  • In the coatroom ALIVE! bin anytime before March 15 and after March 25
ALIVE! has also set up an online store for your convenience. Find it at https://yougivegoods.com/drive/view/30656. If you donate online, please tell us via an anonymous note dropped into the lobby bin to help us gauge the success of our drive. Thank you.
