ALIVE! Update

(updated 11/30/20)

ALIVE! needs us more than ever. For more than 50 years, Agudas Achim has been a partner in ALIVE!, uplifiting members of our community. Let's continue our support.

Holiday Wish List for ALIVE! House Children
The ALIVE! House children have handwritten wish lists for the holiday season. One resident child especially wants a Nintendo Switch Lite; he even wrote a letter to Santa! The Holiday Wish List is available on the ALIVE! House webpage along with the House’s General Wish List and Amazon Wish List. Please help make this holiday season memorable for the resident families.

ALIVE! Preschool Toy Drive
Donate educational toys to ALIVE! (2723 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22302) by December 11. The TOY WISH LIST is available on our Amazon Wish List, ALIVE! website, and the information sheet.

ALIVE! remains committed to serving preschool-age children in Alexandria. Thank you for assisting ALIVE!'s effort to bring the joy of learning to children in need.

To volunteer for our pop-up distributions, contact Liza Feiler.

December Truck-to-Trunks
December 5 and December 19
Please follow ALIVE! on social media or check the website for details. We are likely moving the John Adams site to the Northern Virginia Community College to spread out to serve more people.

Resource: Medicaid Expansion Open Enrollment
Open enrollment for Virginia Medicaid Expansion runs November 1-December 31. This is important because this is the only time during the year in which Expansion recipients can switch between Medicaid health insurance plans. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, individuals have lost their health coverage or do not have health insurance through their employer. Please encourage people to apply for health insurance through VA’s Medicaid expansion program. See flyers provided by Anthem HealthKeepers Plus in English and Spanish.
