Welcome! Young Families of Alexandria and Arlington offers a place where families raising Jewish children can meet one another, celebrate together, and build community.
In addition to Shabbat and holiday programming, we offer many other opportunities for families to "do something Jewish" with friends and neighbors. Some of these events are organized by Agudas Achim and others by volunteers. All families are welcome, regardless of synagogue membership or affiliation.

Young Families Shabbat Services
Saturdays, April 13; May 4, 11, and 18; June 1 and 8 | 11 a.m.
Families with children birth to age five are invited to join us for this family-friendly Shabbat celebration. We gather almost every Saturday morning during the school year to celebrate Shabbat, enjoy a Torah story, and have fun with friends.
The first Shabbat of the month is led by Morah Jen; all other Shabbatot are led by trained Rhythm n' Ruach instructor Ariel Michaelson.
Grapes & Growth: A Parenting Podcast Discussion Series
Next Session: May 23rd | 7 p.m.
Join Michelle Shoham and Jen Halpern for conversations about the highs and lows of parenting, while simultaneously enjoying a low-key night out with old and new friends.

Nefesh Mountain is coming to Agudas Achim! Join us on Friday, May 3 at 5 p.m. for a Celebration of Shabbat: A Family-Friendly Concert for Everyone who Loves Music with The Nefesh Mountain Trio. Stay for a hearty oneg afterwards, which will include a cake to celebrate the Preschool's 18th Anniversary.

Families with children birth to age five are invited to join Hazzan Diesntfrey at Fairlington park for a music-filled Sunday morning. It's a great way to introduce children to Judaism through song and a chance to connect with other families from the community.
Summer Opportunity: STEAM Camp!
June 17 - June 28, 2024
Help your child discover their inner naturalist by having them join us this summer for a STEAM camp led by our STEAM teacher Charlotte Buckhold. Campers will learn about the flora and fauna around our neighborhood, animal habitats, and much more while partaking in fun STEAM activites and/or crafts and plenty of outside play.
