HaBonim -- The Builders
Building on Our Past; Looking to Our Future
Master Plan Visioning
About five years ago, AAC began the strategic planning process. Our final report issued in November 2018, identified facilities planning as both a driver of success and an action item for the board, as follows:
For realizing the vision for the synagogue
• Physical Infrastructure to sustain our vision for AAC, include developing more high quality physical space by optimizing the use of the current space in the short run, plan for facilities to meet current and future needs, and then we should invest in expansion to meet those needs.
Action items for the board
• Conduct study of facility usage and audit of needed building maintenance and repairs
AAC has begun a study of the facility usage and improvement with this Master Plan Visioning activity. The entire congregation is invited to share ideas and solutions through congregation meetings and the engagement of a working group of members representing all the different cohort groups who make up our community.
On this webpage you will find up-to-date information about the process and ways to interact with the facilitators.

Monday, Feb 20th 8:00p to 9:00p
All are welcome to join the members of the Social Action Book and Movie Club for their monthly Zoom meeting. For February, the club resumes its meetings with Once We Were Slaves by Laura Arnold Leibman. Once We Were Slaves overturns the reclusive heiress's (Moses) assumptions about her family history to reveal that her grandmother and great uncle, Sarah and Isaac Brandon, began their lives as poor Christian slaves in Barbados. Tracing the siblings' extraordinary journey through the Atlantic World, Leibman examines artefacts they left behind in Barbados, Suriname, London, Philidelphia, and finally New York to show how Sarah and Isaac were able to transform themselves and their lives becoming free, wealthy, Jewish and at times, white. Please contact Deborah Rosen for the Zoom information. -
