Youth Groups
Youth
Agudas Achim Congregation is home to three youth groups, all affiliated with the Conservative Movement: USY, Kadima, Machar, and Shoresh.
United Synagogue Youth
United Synagogue Youth (USY) gives high school students (grades 9-12) the opportunity to socialize with Jewish peers, to become involved in the synagogue and the Jewish community, and to experience a Jewish lifestyle. Members of the group, along with their adult advisors, plan our chapter’s programs and participate in regional and national USY dances and conventions.
Kadima
Kadima holds several chapter programs per month for AAC’s middle schoolers (grades 6-8), and members participate in Kadima’s regional events and conventions. The program includes social events, fundraising activities, religious programs, community involvement and field trips.
Machar
Machar, for 4th and 5th grade students, meets once a month. Its programs include Jewish Holiday participation, Tzedakah projects, arts and crafts and fun field trips. Machar activities will begin after the High Holidays.
Shoresh
Shoresh, for students in grades K-3, meets once a month. Its programs include Jewish holiday participation, tzedakah projects, arts and crafts, and fun field trips. Shoresh activities begin after the High Holidays.
