     Our next Israeli movie club will feature the documentary film "Above and Beyond" which tells the incredible story of American Jewish war pilots who fought in Israel's War of Independence in 1948. These pilots - veterans of the American Air Force in WWII - played an important role in Israel's victory and helped shape the Israeli Air Force, which is considered one of Israel's most important defense assets up to this day.
     Following the screening of the movie, Miri will lead a question and answer session with Bruce Lichtman, the son of the late Gideon (Gidi) Lichtman, who was one of the pilots featured in the film. Bruce will talk about his father's participation in the air battles of 1948, and his ties to Israel over the years.
