AAC Good Deeds Day 2021
Agudas Achim Congregation is celebrating International Good Deeds Day.
Stream Cleanup
Sunday, April 11 | 12:30-2 PM or 2-3:30 PM
Once again, we will team up with Arlington Eco-Action and hold a family-friendly and socially-distanced stream cleanup at Four Mile Run at Barcroft Park, 4200 South Four Mile Run Drive in Arlington (not far from the shul).
Wear masks and gloves and, as always, clothes that can get dirty. Boots are also a good idea. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Thanks to Jay Berman and Michael Quint for being our team leaders.
Trash bags and other necessary supplies will be provided. Please complete waivers for Arlington EcoAction and Agudas Achim (below).

Fill the Trunk
Sunday, April 11 | 10 AM-12 PM
Please contribute to the fill-the-trunk collection for three organizations we support each Good Deeds Day: the D.C. Diaper Bank, Pathways to Housing, D.C., and Guest House of Alexandria. Collections are as follows:
D.C. Diaper Bank: baby wipes, baby diapers of any size, women’s hygiene products (pads and tampons).
Pathways to Housing DC: new socks and underwear (men’s and women’s); dish soap, sponges, and Metro fare cards with $4 or more on them. If you have a Metro card but are not sure of the amount on it, please donate it anyway. Volunteers will check the amounts before bringing the cards to Pathways.
Guest House of Alexandria: hand and body lotion, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and tampons (not pads).
And as always, consider a donation to ALIVE! to combat food insecurity in Alexandria.
If these activities don’t work for you, consider honoring International Good Deeds Day by volunteering in some other capacity this month. Take pictures of you and your family doing this activity, and share them with the Social Action Committee. If you'd like, we will share them with the congregation.
Power Pack Program, Take 2
Save the Date: Sunday, May 23
The Social Action Committee will hold Power Pack Program, Take Two, and will again fill bags with meals for hungry students in our area. Stay tuned for details.
