Kaminski will explore how NASA reimagined human space flight after the Apollo moon landings, when the Space Shuttle was designed and promoted as “the people’s spaceship” — a symbol and tool of democratic engagement, participation, and national identity. She will also offer insights into the factors driving human space flight today and how the Shuttle experience could guide NASA in maintaining a strong relationship with the public. A bagel brunch will be served.
