AAC Good Deeds Day 2020

   Agudas Achim will celebrate International Good Deeds Day alongside Jews in 93 countries worldwide. Mark your calendar and plan to join us in activities that serve our community and appeal to congregants of all ages and abilities. 
Please join us in any of the following activities and collections by signing up here
  • Stream Cleanup at Four Mile Run with Congregation Kol Ami and Arlington EcoAction; Project leader – Jay Berman    
  • ALIVE! Child Development Center, walkway painting, shelving construction, and room spruce up; Project leader – Michael Quint
  • Concert at Woodbine Nursing Center by our talented young people and the Sisterhood Ensemble; Project leader – Hazzan Elisheva Dienstfrey
  • Knitting hats and blankets for young patients at Fairfax Children’s Hospital; Project leaders – Patti Rounsevell and Andi Bregstone
  • Home Renovation and Repair with Yachad and Congregation Etz Hayim–  (No previous home repair experience whatsoever is required. Due to scheduling issues with Yachad, this event will take place on Sunday, April 26); Project leader – Howard Frank
  • Religious School Good Deeds Day Activities will focus on preserving our environment and will include learning and hands on activities; Project leader – Samara Weinstein 
  • Young Families (ages 0-5, with parents and siblings) will fill “blessing” bags with hygiene items, food, clothing and money to hand out to the homeless; Project leader – Jennifer Munz
 
We will also have collection bins by the synagogue office, March 15-30, for:
  • Diapers and wipes – DC Diaper Bank
  • Women’s hygiene products – Guest House
  • New underwear and socks, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, personal wipes/tissue – for homeless people served by Pathways to Housing DC
  • Gently used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Lions Club
