Agudas Achim Sisterhood is dedicated to bringing the women of our community together socially and spiritually as a community within a community. Throughout the year, we offer many ways to unwind after long days – at a local pub or for a game night – or to spend time together at a morning Tea or evening Soiree. We also get together for our popular Fix and Freeze events – when we work together to prepare meals we can bring home for the week. Membership is open to any woman associated with Agudas Achim – no matter your age or whether you are Jewish or the relative of a Jewish member.

Our Sisterhood is growing and changing. If you haven’t come out to an event in a while, come to our next event to check us out! We can’t wait to see you! You can join our online conversation on Facebook “Agudas Achim Sisterhood of VA” or by subscribing to our newsletter. Contact Mackenzie to become a member and to purchase your cool Sisterhood T-shirt ($10) and show your Sisterhood pride!! All of the cool gals are doing it!

Remember to shop local and visit your AAC Judaica Shop!

“The most important thing about Sisterhood is the friendship and support we give each other. The people I have met have made and continue to make my life a lot better.” — Sisterhood member

Seniors’ Get-Together

Tuesday, May 16 | 12 noon – 2:30 p.m.
Lainof Auditorium
You won’t want to miss our closing Seniors’ Get-Together of the season on Tuesday, May 16, when Shelly Rosenstein (our J/Beth El coordinator) and her husband, Jay Rosenstein, present “From Hart to Hammerstein: Jewish Composers and Their Music from the 1920s-1940s.” Come learn what the real names of these musicians were and why so many Christmas songs were written by Jewish composers. Shelly will serenade us on the piano and for added fun, song sheets will be given out so we can sing along. What a nice, relaxing way to end the season! Sharyn and Mickey will be turning their chairs over to Jane Bergen and Nancy Siegal who will be at the helm beginning next fall. Welcome!

We’ll serve lunch at 12:00 noon in the Lainof Auditorium at Agudas Achim, followed by our program.  Please extend this invitation to all our senior Agudas Achim members, and as always, we invite the members of the JCCNV Active Retirees to join us.  Reservations are a must and are due no later than Friday, May 5. RSVP to Mickey Lazarus, 703-663- 6688, or Sharyn Tureck, 703-644-1931. We try to arrange transportation when needed.
